Prime Minister Pavel Filip to pay working visit to Romania

Prime Minister Pavel Filip held a meeting with Romanian Ambassador to Moldova, Daniel Ionita, in the context of paying his working visit to Romania, which will take place on 23 March, in Piatra Neamt, Romania.

 

The two officials reiterated issues of joint interest which would be included on the agenda, including: projects in economic, energy, social, education, finance, justice and home affairs fields. A special attention will be paid to the subject of energy interconnection between Moldova and Romania.

 

The prime minister mentioned the very good bilateral relations between Moldova and Romania and continuous support offered by neighbouring country. "Romania has given us a helping hand exactly when Moldova most needed it. Due to financial assistance and its efficient use, we managed to unlock external financing and to overcome the crisis in which Moldova positioned in 2015," said Pavel Filip.

 

In other chain of ideas, the Prime Minister introduced the Romanian diplomat into the Government's reform agenda and the fields of cooperation between Moldova and Romania related to it. Similarly, Pavel Filip pointed out that there was all openness and determination in Chisinau to change things, so that Moldova's European course to become irreversible.

 

At his part, the Romanian ambassador to Chisinau reiterated his country's willingness to support our European path: "Moldova is a strategic priority in Romania's foreign policy and we are ready to assist you in achieving the European integration of Moldova."
