Subsequently, Filat visited the exhibition, where over 100 white, red and rosé wines were exhibited.Filat said that he was satisfied with the things he had seen at the exhibition."Truly speaking, all wines that I have tasted are good. The cabinet approved a draft law amending and supplementing the law No 249 on the state budget for 2013 of 2 November 2012. The document provides for the allocation of funds from the state budget to supply the financial provisions of the law No 51 of 28 March 2012 on increasing pensions and granting financial aid to certain categories of citizens starting with 1 April 2013. The amount of money needed in this respect reaches almost 423 million lei.

Attending the event were American Ambassador to Moldova William Moser, the chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova, Cristina Harea and business people.During his speech, Filat thanked the US government for the important support it offered Moldova and for helping Moldovan authorities organise the business seminar.“I want to thank the US embassies in Chisinau and Bucharest as well as the American Chamber of Commerce for their efforts and for helping us maximally provide Moldovan businessmen with information on business opportunities with the USA and help them learn from the experience of creating a sustainable and profitable business,” Filat said.The acting prime minister said the event was an opportunity to discuss Moldovan-American commercial ties, direct investments and further development opportunities.“The future prospects of Moldovan-American commercial ties are rather large. It is important that during the seminar businessmen learn about all the programmes the US government is offering and make as many contacts as possible,” Filat said.The Moldovan prime minister reiterated that the Moldovan government would take all the necessary efforts to ensure an attractive environment for the investments.For his part, US Ambassador to Moldova William Moser reconfirmed the USA’s support for Moldova’s development in all the collaboration sectors.“In this context, the American and the Moldovan governments are actively cooperating in order to improve the investment environment. There are no special recipes for success, as you must get the very best out of this seminary in order to create your own profitable business,” Moser said.Acting Prime Minister Vlad Filat, US Ambassador to Moldova William Moser and the chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova, Cristina Harea, gave a joint news conference after the seminar’s launch.Filat said the Moldovan government was especially focusing on the promotion of direct foreign investments, whereas the creation of new jobs was one of its priorities.“Our main goal is to promote qualitative Moldovan products on the American market. We also want Moldovan businessmen to find American partners in order to cooperate and develop their businesses in the agriculture, advanced informational technologies or any other sectors. We have a lot to learn in all aspects,” Filat said.The participants in the seminar will tackle opportunities Moldovan-American ties are currently offering. They will also share success stories as well as current information on US-sponsored government programmes for business people.

Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat today chaired a cabinet meeting
At the beginning of the meeting, Filat said responsible authorities should take the necessary sanitation measures in all of Moldova’s districts. In this respect, he required Environment Minister Gheorghe Salaru to carry out a plan of measures and ensure the active participation of local public authorities in the settlement of these problems as well as take care of the financial aspect. Filat praised the society’s active participation in this sector, saying state institutions had to be more active in this context.
