Vlad Filat thanked the participants for their presence and acceptance to hold the meeting in Chisinau.
"We are watching for the bank's activity, including the fulfilment of the projects of the member-countries, being a source of inspiration for us. On this occasion, I would like to congratulate the bank for the maintenance of the AAA rating, despite the latest evolutions on the world financial markets. Maintaining this high rating and continuing to finance the social projects is more crucial nowadays despite the crisis, when the less-well off people are suffering from it mostly", he said.
Filat said that the main goal stipulated in the Moldovan government's activity programme is the country's integration into the European Union.
"Carrying out of this goal is unimaginable, in our opinion, without adjusting to the European standards in the human rights sector, without any solid system of the social protection and health care, indispensable for sustainable economic growth", he noted.
Filat noted that namely from these reasons and proceeding from these priorities, the government asked the bank for the assistance, and among the fields covered by the projects meant for Moldova are the construction of the social dwellings, the health care sector, creation of jobs etc.
"I would like to express my gratitude to the approval of the donnation worth 500,000 euros, which will allow develop the technical capacity of the Centre for Blood Transfusion in Chisinau. Also, we praise the approval for extending the project on the modernization of the Republican Clinic Hospital", he said.
In another context, Filat praised the efforts taken both by the bank's leadership and the member-countries' governments in subscribing to the capital growth. Moldova was one of the first countries which made this important step.
The chairman of the bank's Governing Board, Raphael Alomar, said that the meeting held in Chisinau was successful.
The governor of the Council of Europe Development Bank, Rolf Wenzel, said that the bank will further back the social and health care projects. He noted that two important agreements on construction of social dwellings - the second stage and the modernization of the centre for blood transfusion will be signed.
The chairman of the Administrative Council, Joseph Licari, thanked Filat for hospitality, and enjoys the achievements recorded by Moldova over the past years.
