Giving a news conference today on the results of a 26-29 June visit to Brussels, Prime Minister Vlad Filat talked about his participation in the summit of the European People's Party.

Filat said he had had many useful and important talks with partners from other countries, highlighting discussions with a number of officials representing the leadership of European countries.

"I invited Mrs Angela Merkel, the federal chancellor of Germany, to visit the Republic of Moldova and she accepted the invitation. The visit will take place this summer. This will be the first visit to Moldova by a German federal chancellor," Filat announced.

Vlad Filat said that this morning he had signed an instruction on the launch of preparations for this important visit.
