Working visit of Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Chiveri to the Anenii Noi district
On March 5, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri conducted a working visit to the Anenii Noi district, where he held meetings with district leadership and with the mayors of settlements located within the perimeter of the Security Zone. The discussions focused on strengthening the capacity of local public authorities, accelerating the implementation of development projects, and assessing their impact on community development on both banks of the Nistru River.
During the discussions, the Deputy Prime Minister informed about the beginning of works to connect the settlement of Varnița to the natural gas distribution networks and also addressed the objectives and purpose of the legislative initiative to establish the Convergence Fund to support development projects on both banks of the Nistru River, which is currently at the stage of interagency consultations.
As part of the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister also discussed the current situation in the district with the Chairman of the Anenii Noi District, Alexandru Moisei. The activities of the local administration were highly appreciated, and the interlocutors emphasized the need to develop the district’s infrastructure to optimize traffic flow, taking into account the significant number of people who daily travel from the Transnistrian region to settlements on the right bank for work, services, and other needs.
The Deputy Prime Minister also inspected on-site the infrastructure illegally installed by representatives of Tiraspol on the Hîrbovăț – Proteagailovca – Bender road section, which unjustifiably restricts traffic and affects the mobility of residents and economic agents, considering that ensuring safe and uninterrupted traffic during repair works remains a top priority.
It is worth noting that between 2011 and 2025, the settlements of the Anenii Noi district located within the Security Zone received support through projects funded under the Program of Activities for the Reintegration of the Country, totaling 28.5 million lei.
