Road segment of 4.2 km modernized in north Moldova with investments worth 32 million lei

A segment of the national road G20, connecting the localities of Fintanita, Tarigrad, and Drochia, has been renovated, with 95 per cent of the work already completed. The works will be finished ahead of the initially planned deadline. The repair work, which spans a total length of 4.20 km, was inspected by Prime Minister Dorin Recean in the village of Tarigrad.
‘’This road sector is essential for the community and is one of over 600 kilometers of local and regional roads we are repairing this year. Moldova grows due to our common effort,’’ noted Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The total value of the G20 road rehabilitation project is about 32 million lei. The works carried out include the modernization of the road surface through asphalting, the arrangement of three culverts for water drainage, the setting of traffic safety elements—signs, markings, guiding posts—as well as the installation of a 120-meter-long metal safety barrier.
This year, 3.2 billion lei is earmarked for the rehabilitation, reconstruction and maintenance of roads and bridges—the largest sum of money ever allocated in Moldova, during one year alone, for roads’ infrastructure. In total, over 570 mayoralties have submitted projects to the government, in order to get funding for local roads’ repair.
