Moldovan PM participates in presentation of Moldova's economic transformation and reform index

3 april 2025, Chișinău - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has participated in the presentation of Moldova's Economic Transformation and Reform Index – METRIX - developed by the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham). The index provides an assessment of the interaction between the business environment and public authorities, through the lens of Moldova's investment attractiveness.
The PM praised the contribution of the private sector in monitoring the impact of government actions to improve the investment climate. “We must be friends and partners. The government respects profit and socially responsible companies and sees an evolution in the business environment, which is increasingly attentive to the needs of people and society,” emphasized prime minister.
At the same time, the prime minister stressed that increasing labor productivity and directing investments into sectors that produce high added value was essential. “Moldova is capable of attracting investments in areas where we can increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and provide more opportunities for foreign investors,” the prime minister added. Meanwhile, the PM highlighted the need to increase investors’ confidence in the country's economy, in the context of the current regional situation.
As many as 372 companies from various sectors of the economy and all regions of the country were surveyed for the development of METRIX. Such aspects as general business conditions, the taxation system, trade regulation, human capital, process digitalization, access to finance and more were evaluated. Through the analysis of the data got, the aim is to improve the dialogue between the private and public sectors and promote a transparent, predictable and efficient business environment.
