Discussions of Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Chiveri with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, Thomas Lenk

On March 18, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri held a working meeting with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistrian settlement process, Thomas Lenk.

The discussions focused on the dynamics of the negotiation process regarding the Transnistrian settlement, the main topics on the agenda of the dialogue between Chișinău and Tiraspol, as well as the priority actions undertaken by the national authorities to advance sectoral policies for the reintegration of the country. 

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the necessity to maintain a dialogue oriented toward achieving concrete results and aimed at benefiting citizens on both banks of the Nistru River, as well as the importance of eliminating unjustified obstacles that negatively affect fundamental human rights and freedoms.

The officials confirmed their readiness to maintain continuous interaction in order to promote the development of constructive processes, noting the role of the OSCE in facilitating dialogue and supporting efforts to bring the two banks of the Nistru River closer together.
