Expert-level consultations from both banks of the Nistru River regarding the initiation of the technical assessment of the premises of the “Evrika” Theoretical Lyceum in the city of Râbnița
On August 12, 2025, a consultative working meeting was held via videoconference, bringing together experts from both banks of the Nistru River in the fields of construction design and education, with the aim of determining the necessary steps for carrying out the technical assessment of the buildings located in Rîbnița, at 14 Gagarin Street, previously used by the “Evrika” Theoretical Lyceum, under the authority of the Ministry of Education and Research.
The experts from Chișinău presented the steps required to initiate technical assessments in construction, emphasizing their importance for evaluating the current physical condition of the properties, the strength and safety of the structures, identifying possible non-conformities, and proposing remedial measures. They discussed the types of applicable assessments and ways to adapt them to current conditions.
At the same time, during the consultations, the necessity of preparing a feasibility study was highlighted, one that would include both a technical and functional analysis of the buildings, as well as an estimate of the costs needed for rehabilitation, reinforcement, or reconstruction, depending on the conclusions of the technical assessment. This would allow for planning subsequent interventions and identifying appropriate funding sources.
Chișinău reaffirmed the need to obtain from Tiraspol a firm commitment to restore to the “Evrika” Theoretical Lyceum in Râbnița the right of ownership and use of these properties, stressing that the educational institution must operate in safe premises, in compliance with the highest safety, quality, and educational standards.
The relevant experts expressed their willingness to conduct a field visit in the near future in order to achieve tangible results in the legitimate interests of the pupils and teaching staff of this Theoretical Lyceum.
