Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration with the Ambassador of Canada

On 10 June 2026, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Chiveri, held a meeting with Gavin Buchan, Ambassador of Canada to the Republic of Moldova, resident in Bucharest, who paid a farewell visit on the occasion of the completion of his mandate.

A distinct issue of the meeting was the country’s reintegration process, during which the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of support from international partners in promoting a peaceful and sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, in full respect of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.

At the same time, the officials reviewed the current state of Moldovan-Canadian cooperation and reiterated their shared interest in further deepening bilateral dialogue. 

Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Chiveri expressed appreciation for the consistent support provided by Canada to the Republic of Moldova and thanked Ambassador Gavin Buchan for his contribution to strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between our countries, wishing him success in his future diplomatic endeavours.
