Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration with the Deputy Director of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Department of the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

On March 25, 2026, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Chiveri, held a working meeting with Mark Clayton, Deputy Director of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Department of the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, accompanied by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Moldova, Fern Horine.

During the meeting, the current situation in the Transnistrian region was discussed, as well as the measures taken by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to support the inhabitants of the eastern districts in the context of the reintegration of the country and the protection of fundamental rights.

The British officials confirmed their strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders, as well as their support for reintegration efforts.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the continuous assistance provided to the Republic of Moldova by the United Kingdom, emphasizing its importance for advancing a comprehensive and peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.
