Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy
The meeting of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian with Josep Borell, Vice-President of the European Commission, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, took place today in Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium. During the discussion, an assessment was made of the current situation in the country and in the region, a priority being given to Transnistrian and security issues.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian expressed gratitude to the European Union for its essential and constant support provided to the Republic of Moldova, including the country's reintegration process, as well as the management of the Ukrainian refugee crisis. "The candidate status for EU membership also changes the perspectives on the Transnistrian file, as it calls for new approaches to it. Chisinau sees the two processes - European integration and the country's reintegration - as two national priorities ", the Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
The Vice-President of the European Commission has reiterated the EU's readiness in continuing its political and economic support to the Republic of Moldova in the reintegration process, while also encouraging the authorities to move forward on the path of reforms.
