Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration with the head of the European Union delegation in the Republic of Moldova

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian met today, May 10, 2022, with the head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, Jānis Mažeiks.

The discussions focused on the Transnistrian settlement negotiation process, current issues on the agenda of the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue, the regional situation, priorities and measures taken by Moldovan authorities to resolve the problems of residents on both banks of the Nistru river.

Mention was made of Chisinau's efforts to maintain the dynamics of interaction at the level of political representatives and sectoral working groups, as well as approaches to the viable resolution of topical issues on the agenda.

Praise was given to the significant contribution made by the European Union as an actor in the "5 + 2" negotiating format, a donor in the implementation of multiple assistance projects, including in promoting confidence-building measures, as well as a provider of multisectoral assistance in order to ensure the proper fulfillment of the commitments assumed by the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union.
