A new meeting of the working groups on customs issues has taken place in videoconference
The working groups on customs issues, with the participation of profile experts from both banks of the Nistru River and the representatives of mediators and observers from the "5 + 2" negotiation format, met today in a new meeting, in online format.
The subject of discussions concerned the customs operations regarding individuals and legal entities importing different categories of goods into the Transnistrian region. Experts from Chisinau have made clarifications regarding procedures to be enforced in light of rigors of the working legislation, sets of supporting documents, authorizations to be obtained from competent national institutions, terms of case processing, ways to contest issued decisions, etc.
Experts from Tiraspol brought into attention problematic situations involving the import of batches of goods by economic agents in the region, including in the context of suspending the functionality of crossing points on the central (Transnistrian) segment of the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border. The experts from Chisinau stated the reasons for the difficulties encountered and the measures aimed at ensuring compliance with the requirements prescribed by the national and international regulatory framework.
With regard to the topics that go beyond the competence of the experts in the customs field, it was recommended to approach them on the platform of the dedicated working groups (on economy, on environmental protection, on the veterinary and phytosanitary issues, etc.).
