On the new meeting of the working groups on healthcare

Today, the experts of the working groups for healthcare held a new meeting dedicated to the examination of the problems faced by the economic agents from the Transnistrian region when importing medicines not registered in the profile registers of the Republic of Moldova.

 

The delegation from Chisinau, composed of representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova, the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices and the Bureau of Reintegration Policies, under the coordination of Ms. Zinaida Bezverhni, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health and leader of the working group, came with a broad array of proposals and recommendations that would help facilitate the import of medicines and pharmaceuticals into the region and overcome the existing situation.

 

The representatives of the economic agents in the region in attendance were explained in detail the main criteria to be taken into account when issuing the import authorizations and the basic reasons for refusing the authorization, specifying the procedural requirements and suggesting the appropriate actions capable of leading to the minimization of the chances of rejection of the submitted files.

 

The officials from Chisinau also mentioned that it will additionally examine possible measures that can be taken after completing the lists of medicines of vital importance with products listed as essential in the relevant registers in the region.

 

The experts agreed on the development of an optimal formula, with a preventive risk assessment and compliance with the basic principle: the quality and safety of medicines, to be subsequently submitted for examination to the Commission for Exceptional Situations.

 

The discussions will continue at the next meeting, which will take place at the OSCE Mission Office in Chisinau.
