The problem of illegal posts in the Security zone remains the focus of the Joint Control Commission

The members of the Joint Control Commission gathered at a meeting in Bender on July 7, 2022.

According to the agenda, the Commission examined 3 weekly reports of the Joint Military Command. In all reports, the military observers reflected upon the presence of the posts that were unilaterally installed by Tiraspol in the Security Zone starting April 26 this year.

Debates on these provocative actions from the Transnistrian structures followed, and the delegation of the Republic of Moldova reiterated its requests regarding their unconditional withdrawal from the perimeter of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces.

Chisinau's position on the subject is resolute and derives from the provisions of the Agreement of July 21, 1992, and the other documents of the peacekeeping operation on the Nistru River.

At the meeting, the Commission did not adopt any decision, and will resume discussions in the following week.
