Weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission
Today, April 28, 2022, the weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) did not take place because of the absence of the representatives of Ukraine.
As a result of the clarifications, it was found that the representatives of Ukraine and other accredited diplomatic missions in the Republic of Moldova were informed in written form by Tiraspol about the unilateral imposition of conditionalities on entry/exit to/from the region, including within the Security Zone.
The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova drew the attention of the participants in the Commission to the fact that such actions are part of the countless provocations intentionally generated in recent times by Tiraspol, in order to destabilize the situation, and trough them the provisions of the basic documents of the peacekeeping mission are being abusively violated.
Tiraspol officials have been asked to abandon such destructive and excessive approaches that ignore the format and mandate of the peacekeeping mission, including on issues related to monitoring and controlling the situation in the Security Zone.
At the same time, during the visit to the JCC meeting, the members of the Moldovan delegation fixed the presence of fortified posts of the Transnistrian enforcing structures, which once again confirms their defiance of the provisions of the Agreement on the principles of peaceful settlement of armed conflict in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova from July 21, 1992, and other documents regulating the activity of the peacekeeping mission.
This issue will be kept by the Moldovan component on the Commission's agenda until the situation returns to normal, insisting that the meetings be resumed only in full format.
