Weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission

At the meeting of the Joint Control Commission held on June 2, 2022, the discussions regarding the situation in the Security Zone continued, based on the reports of the Joint Military Command.

The central topic was once again the installation of unilateral posts and the illegal presence in the Security Zone of the exponents of the force structures subordinated to Tiraspol, equipped with automatic pistols.

The mentioned violations were documented by the OSCE Mission to Moldova. The representatives of the OSCE Mission to Moldova listed 23 cases found in the districts of Camenca, Râbnița, Dubasari, Grigoriopol, Slobozia, in the cities of Tiraspol and Bender in the monitoring report for the month of May. These are posts with armed personnel and reinforced by concrete blocks.

The delegation of the Republic of Moldova constantly condemned these provocative actions of Tiraspol, and once again demanded in this working meeting the unconditional removal of posts and other obstacles that undermine the free movement of citizens.

In this regard, the members of the Chisinau delegation made concrete proposals in accordance with the Regulation of the Joint Control Commission, urging the Commission to take a decision on the subject. Likewise, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova emphasized that it always based its actions on the provisions of the acts of the peacekeeping mission.

Traditionally, the Tiraspol delegation has invented various tricks just to prevent the acceptance of the draft decision.

The Commission will return to the subject after a week.
