Weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission

On June 9, 2022, the members of the Joint Control Commission met in Bender to continue the examination of the agenda approved at the previous meeting.

Contrary to the agreed agenda, the delegation of the Transnistrian region tried to distort the talks, referring to the incident that took place on June 5 in Vladimirovca.

On this attempt to change the subject of the debates, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova reminded the sides that the area of responsibility of the Joint Control Commission extends over the Security Zone, and the locality of Vladimirovca is not located within its perimeter.

Regarding the incident, the OSCE Mission to Moldova informed the Commission that it was unable to confirm it, as on June 5 one of its teams was not allowed to document itself on the spot, the ground being surrounded by Transnistrian force structures.

Disturbed that things could not proceed to the detriment of the Commission's rules of procedure, the members of the Tiraspol delegation defiantly left the room, blocking the meeting.

It turns out that the Transnistrian delegation used a well-prepared scenario from home to prevent a decision on the issue of unilateral posts and the illegal presence in the Security Zone of exponents of Tiraspol-backed force structures equipped with automatic pistols.

We specify that the delegation of the Russian Federation proposed an alternative formula for overcoming the dissensions on this agenda item, but the abandonment of the meeting by the Tiraspol representatives did not allow the examination of the proposal.

The subject of illegal posts and armed personnel remains on the Commission's agenda.
