Weekly Meeting of the Joint Control Commission on March 26, 2026

In Bender, discussions continued on current issues related to the situation in the Security Zone.

Regarding access for media representatives to the activities of the Joint Control Commission, the position of the delegation of the Republic of Moldova remains firm: it is unacceptable to impose unlawful accreditation conditions on journalists from the right bank of the Nistru River; interference by Transnistrian force structures in this process will be excluded.

The counterproductive approach of Tiraspol’s representatives is hindering progress in resolving the issue of press participation in the Commission’s work.

During the meeting, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova stated that, in connection with the transition of the National Army to summer military uniforms, a process that began on March 20, 2026, the National Army contingent within the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in the Security Zone will comply with the regulations on wearing distinguishing insignia of National Army personnel in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 1287/2023.

The delegation of the Republic of Moldova called on Tiraspol’s representatives, who allowed themselves insinuations on this matter, to focus on eliminating illegal posts that obstruct the free movement of citizens in the Security Zone.
