Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian visited the Theoretical Lyceum ”Alexandru cel Bun” from Bender

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian, accompanied by EU High-Level Adviser for Confidence Building Measures Kalman Mizsei and representatives of the Bureau of Reintegration Policies (Alin Gvidiani, Aurelia Barbaroș and Ivan Țurcan) paid a working visit to the ”Alexandru cel Bun” Theoretical Lyceum from the city of Bender.

During the discussions with the administration of the educational institution and the teachers, topics related to the educational process were addressed, as well as impediments faced by teachers and students enrolled in high school and potential ways to overcome them.

In fact, the series of difficulties faced by the Theoretical High School "Alexandru cel Bun" also affected the number of students. Thus, in the academic year 1999-2000 there were 2015 students, the institution having the highest number of students studying in Romanian in the entire Transnistrian region, while in the current year of studies in the same lyceum there are only 436 students. It should be mentioned only for comparison that in the academic year 2021-2022 in all 8 educational institutions there are 1650 students.

It was found that although the problem of headquarters is not as pressing as in the case of other educational institutions, however, based on the experiences of previous years, it is a current one and needs to be solved.

The Deputy Prime Minister and the representatives of the Bureau expressed their openness to continue the prodigious dialogue and assured that they will make the necessary efforts to solve the series of difficulties that the students and the educational institution face.
