Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian with the resident coordinator of the UN in the Republic of Moldova, Simon Springett

Today, June 22, 2022, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a working meeting with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Moldova Simon Springett, with the participation of representatives of UN agencies, the Bureau of Reintegration Policies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the Office of the People's Advocate.

The meeting focused on consultations on potential new assistance project initiatives aimed at beneficiaries on both sides of the Nistru River and at helping build confidence, maintain sustainable peace, achieve social cohesion, promote the "Women, Peace and Security" agenda and the respect for human rights in accordance with applicable international standards, etc.

A productive exchange of views and suggestions was carried out, expressing the readiness to continue consultations on this subject and to promote initiatives to support the implementation of the reintegration of the country objective and to improve the human rights situation in the eastern districts of the country.
