Aspects of the Transnistrian issue and regional security have been discussed with the Special Representative of Ukraine for the Transnistrian settlement

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian held a video conversation today with the Special Representative of Ukraine for the Transnistrian settlement Yuri Klimenko.

The officials exchanged information and views on a wide range of issues related to the Transnistrian issue, the dynamics of the negotiation process, the prospects for their promotion, reconfirming Ukraine's strong support for the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict with respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, within its internationally recognized borders.

The complex regional situation was also addressed in the context of the vulnerabilities and security risks generated by the war in Ukraine, highlighting the existing concerns as well as the need to prevent destabilizing measures and restore the atmosphere of peace and security and mentioning the indispensability of constant and useful coordination of measures of common interest, including with the support of relevant international partners.

The officials expressed their readiness to maintain ongoing communication and to promote a productive dialogue on various priority issues of mutual interest.
