The head of the Bureau Alin Gvidiani and the head of the assistance projects section Eugen Cara took part in the VI-th meeting of the Republic of Moldova-European Union Association Committee

Today, 17 June 2022, Alin Gvidiani, Head of the Bureau of Reintegration Policies, and Eugen Cara, Head of the Assistance Projects Section, participated online in the sixth meeting of the Republic of Moldova-European Union Association Committee, held in Brussels and in which the progress made in implementing the Association Agreement was addressed.

 

In their speech, the represtentatives of the Bureau spoke about the important role of the European Union in promoting confidence-building measures on both sides of the Nistru river and in supporting the Transnistrian settlement process, while respecting the sovereignty and territorial unity of the Republic of Moldova, the benefits of development projects and the impact of facilities offered by the EU on the processes of modernization and increasing the attractiveness of the right bank for the left, the massive documentation of the population and companies in the east of the country with documents issued by the competent authorities of the country.

 

The dynamics of the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol were also reported, including in the 9 meetings of the sectoral working groups in the first half of 2022, the state of the current issues on the agenda, the very worrying limitations on human rights in the Transnistrian region and the context of regional security.

 

Confidence was expressed that the permanent development of the cooperation relations and the accomplishment of the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova create favorable conditions for advancing in the settlement objective, building a space of security and prosperity, as well as for completing the assumed structural reforms.
