The working groups on healthcare have once more addressed the issue of authorisation of essential medicines

Today, June 16, 2022, the experts from the working groups for healthcare met in a new meeting, focused on specifying the necessary steps to be taken by the licensed companies that supply the population of the Transnistrian region with essential medicines.

 

The Chisinau delegation was led by the Director General of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (AMDM), Mr. Dragoș Guțu, with the participation of the WHO representative in the Republic of Moldova, Ms. Miljana Grbic, as well as officials of the Bureau of Reintegration Policies.

 

Chisinau mentioned the algorithm for adjusting and standardizing the list of essential medicines on both banks of the Nistru River, as stated at the meeting of May 5, 2022, and came up with some additional recommendations that would facilitate the process of obtaining authorization for economic operators in the region.

 

Following the technical level consultations between AMDM and the economic agents in the region, present at the meeting, AMDM representatives offered them the opportunity to ask clarification questions and explained the necessary processes and steps to overcome the existing difficulties and comply with the rigors for the authorization of medicinal products for human use.

 

In this regard, AMDM returned with the initiative to conduct thematic training courses, and the WHO Mission to Moldova reiterated its openness to facilitate this process at the technical level, with the training of relevant experts.
